His Excellency, Most Reverend William E. Koenig, Bishop of Wilmington

Bishop William E. Koenig was installed as the tenth bishop of the Diocese of Wilmington on July 13, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Church in Wilmington, Delaware. He served as the Vicar for Clergy for the Diocese of Rockville Centre, New York. He was born on August 17, 1956 in Queens, New York.     Fr. Rich Jasper

  
Father Rich Jasper started his journey toward priesthood as a middle school teacher in Catholic schools in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. In addition, he also worked as an assistant youth minister at Saint John the Beloved Church in Wilmington and performed a volunteer year of service at Seton Center/Catholic Charities’ multi-purpose community center in Princess Anne, Maryland, before entering the seminary for the Diocese of Wilmington. During his formation at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, he served in summer ministry and a pastoral year at Saint Elizabeth Church in Wilmington and was later assigned to diaconal ministry at Saint Mary Magdalen Church in Fairfax, Delaware. For the past three years, he has served as associate pastor of St. Ann Church in the 40 Acres section of Wilmington.

  Fr. James Gebhart

  Fr.  James M. Gebhart was ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, May 18, 2024. He is the son of Stephen and Mary Gebhart of Newark, Delaware  and attended St.  Catherine of Siena and St. Elizabeth’s Elementary Schools, Delaware Military Academy and Goldey-Beacom College. He earned his undergraduate degree in Catholic Theology while at the College Seminary of the Immaculate Conception at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, where he received the honor of being named the 2019 Seton Hall Valedictorian. On May 9, 2024, he graduated from Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland with a Master of Divinity and a Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology. During his priestly formation, he has done pastoral work at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Bear, St. Ann’s Parish in Wilmington and St. John the Apostle in Milford and St. Bernadette in Harrington, Delaware.

Reverend Gerald Dunne, OSFS Priest in Residence

Father Jerry is an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales. He had the honor of preaching at the final Mass held in the Bridge Street Church in November 1973. Since then, he was faculty at various high schools, was a director at Camp Brisson, and religious superior in Philadelphia. Mr. Michael Truman
Permanent Deacon

Deacon Mike was ordained on May 9, 2009. Roberta (Bobbie) and Mike met at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. They were married in the school’s chapel on July 6, 1974. After a 30-year career, Mike retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in August 2008. This career took them to Wisconsin, Alabama, Florida, Missouri, Maryland, New Jersey and back to Maryland. Their adult daughter lives and works in New Jersey. Mike has a B.S. (Psychology) and M.S. (Corrections) from Xavier University and an additional M.S. (Criminology) from Florida State University. Mr. Ben Feril
Permanent Deacon

Deacon Ben and his wife Rita became members of the parish in 2005 and both are retired U. S. Navy Officers.  He was ordained into the Permanent Diaconate on August 7, 2021 he and holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Secondary Education from Central Michigan University and Master’s degree in Church Ministries and Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland.  Prior to his ordination, Deacon Ben, was active as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, Proclaimer, an RCIA instructor, and a member of the Parish Council.  In addition to being an active adult Scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America, Deacon Ben is also a volunteer chaplain with the Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware.  Mr. George Gregory
Coordinator of Music & Liturgy

 George moved to Cecil County and joined IC/SJ in 2019, coming from Chester County, PA where he was music director at St. Joseph Parish. He had also served as liturgy planner and cantor at Our Lady of the Rosary Parish and the former St. Cecilia Parish. He was also an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist at St. Cecilia, as well as serving on the parish council and teaching CCD (prep) 1st communion and confirmation classes. George is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, in which he completed assignments in the states and overseas. George holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Phila, and has taken extensive studies in Scripture, Church History, Liturgy, and Liturgical Music.
