Seventh Sunday of Easter

“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another. No one has ever seen God. Yet, if we love one another God remains in us, and His love is brought to perfection in us. This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us of his Spirit.”

We are a few days away from the great feast of Pentecost, when our loving God sent the Holy Spirit on the first disciples. He continues to shower us today, as we live Pentecost, as we witness to the Lord through the gift of confirmation.

As we ask that the love of God be brought to perfection in us, may we recall the promised gifts of the Spirit for us from Isaiah and the fruits of the Spirit from the letter to the Galatians. (Is. 11 and Gal. 5)

The Lord does not force the Spirit upon us, we are to ask that He renew us again on Pentecost.
