Sixth Sunday of Easter - May 9th

“In this way the love of God has been revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we may have life through him. In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he has loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins... remain in my love.”

Our love of God is only a reflection of His never-ending love of me. He creates, sustains, and fills me with His life and love. I might think about my love of the Lord, but in reality, it mirrors His love for me.

‘Love one another as I love you’ is His commandment. My response is directed toward others. When I realize that they are worthy of Christ’s love, then I eagerly want to do the same. His love for me is to be given to others. ‘God is love and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him.’
