“From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ As he was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting their nets into the sea; they were fishermen. He said to them, ‘Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.’”
The message of Jesus, as we read at the beginning of His ministry, is simple and clear: repentance and acceptance of the kingdom He came to establish. The invitation to Simon and Andrew, is His invitation to me again today. He has a plan and a task for me. Why am I so slow to see the urgency of His call? As we look at the world around us, broken and in need of Him, we are summoned to respond. If we wait for the next person to respond valuable time will be lost. Please put a name and face in your prayer, for someone surely is awaiting your response and action.
