Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time

November 13, 2022

“But for you who fear my name, there will arise the sun of justice with its healing rays… See that you not be deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he’ and ‘the time has come.’ Do not follow them for I myself will give wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute… by your perseverance you will save your lives.”

As we approach the end of the church year it is well for us to consider our own frailty, our mortality, and whether we are prepared to meet our maker. It will be easy for us when we follow the advice we have just read, for if we are honest, we know our society embraces different values and offers a different goal for happiness.  We are sometimes attracted by those different values.

As disciples we consider the invitation and gift of salvation which comes from Jesus Christ and strive to live each day, from this day forward, looking  forward to our final destiny, union with Christ.
