Parish Pastoral Council News

The Parish Pastoral Council of Immaculate Conception met on Saturday, August 19, for a morning of prayer and planning for the upcoming year.  One highlight of the time spent together was the opportunity to learn about the present mental-health and spiritual state of our young people, presented by Mare Draper, director of faith formation.

In collaboration with the finance and building committees, as well as the generous support of many parishioners, the parish council reviewed accomplishments of the past year, including: the hiring of a director of faith formation; the return of coffee and donut socials after Sunday Masses; the placement of signage on campus (thanks to a generous donation by a parishioner); obtaining and training for CPR/AED machines in both church locations and the parish office;  and various physical plant improvements (parish office porch replacement; tree and shed removal).

In the coming year, the parish council will continue to offer oversight with the new roof placement on Immaculate Conception Church (approved and in process of finalizing contractor); support the various efforts to celebrate the parish’s 175th anniversary; and provide assistance with other deanery, social and faith formation projects beginning to be formulated.

Please pray for us as we work to build upon the strong foundation of faith and service that Immaculate Conception Parish has always offered to our community.
