Job Opening for Director of Music Ministry:
Immaculate Conception Parish is seeking a fulltime Director of Music Ministry (DMM)
responsible for music at weekend liturgies, Holy
Days, weddings, funerals, sacramental
celebrations, and parish ministries.
The Catholic Community of Immaculate
Conception/St. Jude is part of the Diocese of
Wilmington and located in Elkton, MD. We are in a
suburban and rural community of 1,004
households. We are an active, welcoming parish
with a variety of ministries and programs for
members of all ages. We also serve a Mission
Church, St. Jude, in North East, MD.
Position: The DMM is responsible to call forth
the gifts of the parish community through
involvement with choirs, musicians, and active
participation of the assembly during Mass. The
DMM is responsible for preparation of choirs,
cantors, and music groups to ensure proper
musical accompaniments for all services.
The ideal DMM has a bachelor’s degree or
equivalent in music (Sacred or Liturgical
preferred) with experience in Roman Catholic
liturgy and liturgical music. The DMM is skilled
in piano and voice; organ is preferred but not
essential. Salary is commensurate with skill,
education, and experience. Benefits are offered
in keeping with diocesan policy.
Applicant: Be a practicing Catholic and be
capable and willing to create a diverse and
dynamic music ministry program including: a
contemporary choir, children’s choir, adult choir,
and integration of other musicians into the
ministry. Applicant should also work well as a
team member and seek to enrich the faith life of
worshipers.
