Religious Education

March 22, 2024

New this year! We are so excited to share a new vision that may be the best thing that happened to our parish’s religious education program in many years. This summer we are piloting the Academy of Faith program for Immaculate Conception Parish children entering Kindergarten to the 8th grade in the Fall. The program will begin Tuesday, June 18 and run through Friday, June 21st from 9am - 3:30pm daily. While this is a long day/week, it will also cover all the Diocesan Requirements for instruction. Essentially, all the educational materials will be unpacked during the week of the Academy with the addition of art, music, and games to reinforce the intense material. Throughout the year there will be family-friendly, catechetical-rich programs and events offered for your family to encounter using an Academy Card method.

What’s next? If you are interested in the pilot program this year, please check out our website @https://immaculateconceptionelkton.jumbula.com/religious-education to register or call our office for more information. This is an awesome alternaltive for busy families with super-busy, school-year calendars! It is also a great way to live your faith outside the classroom and connect to our church community!

Traditional Religious Education will still be offered in the Fall for those who choose not to attend the summer program and would like to remain in a weekly, educational environment. Classes will continue to be held weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:15-8pm starting in September. Sacramental Prep (1st Reconciliation/1st Eucharist) will be held starting in the Fall/Spring. All our RE program registrations will be open starting March 25th. A parent meeting will be held on May 10 @ 6:30 in the School Meeting Room for families considering or registered in the Academy of Faith Summer program. Payment plans and scholarships are available upon request.

According to our parish administrator, Fr. Rich, he is excited about the new parish venture. “There is nothing more important to our mission than to help our young people fall in love with Jesus Christ and to have a healthy, positive, relationship with His Church,” he said. “Our parish is growing, and it is great to see young families returning to Mass and the sacraments. Please give your children the gift of a solid Catholic education through our Religious Education program. Let’s be bold and unafraid to build this new program together.”
